Lip Blush

Lip blush tattooing, also known as lip tinting or lip tattooing.

How lip blush tattooing works

Lip blush tattooing involves depositing pigment into the upper layers of the skin on the lips using a specialized cosmetic tattoo machine. The goal is to enhance the lips’ natural hue, correct asymmetry, and give the appearance of fuller, more defined lips. Here’s a breakdown of the process.

Pre treatment preparation

To ensure comfort during the procedure, a topical numbing cream is applied to the lips. This numbing process can take around 20-30 minutes. Cleansing: The lips are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to prepare the area for the procedure.

Consultation & design

A thorough consultation with a professional cosmetic tattoo artist is essential. During this meeting, you discuss your desired lip color, shape, and overall look. The artist will design a preliminary outline and colorswatch for your lips. This step ensures that both you and the artist have a clear understanding of the desired outcome

Pigment application

Using a fine needle, the artist carefully deposits pigment into the upper layers of the skin. The process involves a series of small, precise movements to create a natural-looking gradient effect. Multiple layers of pigment are applied to achieve the desired colorintensity and blend.

Post treatment care

After the procedure, the lips may appear swollen and the color more intense than expected. This is normal and will subside as the lips heal. Over the next few days, the lips will start to peel, revealing the softer, final color underneath. It’s important to follow the artist’s aftercare instructions, which typically include avoiding certain foods, keeping the lips moisturized, and not picking at peeling skin.

Maintenance + Care

Lip blush tattoos generally last between 1-3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Lighter colors may fade more quickly, requiring more frequent touch-ups.

Protect your lips from sun exposure, as UV rays can cause the pigment to fade faster. Using a lip balm with SPF is recommended. Moisturization: Keep the lips moisturized to maintain the pigment and ensure a healthy appearance.
To keep the color fresh and vibrant, periodic touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years.
